Ophthalmology

Advancing Eye Care with Innovation

Ophthalmology focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of eye disorders ranging from common conditions such as dry eyes and infections to chronic diseases like retinal disorders and glaucoma.

Globally, vision-related challenges are increasing, with billions already affected, driven by aging population, rising screen exposure linked to myopia and digital eye strain, and the expanding burden of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes-related eye complications.

As these disorders become more prevalent, there is an increasing demand for high-quality, reliable ophthalmic formulations, driven by the need for better treatment and long-term disease management.

According to the World Health Organization, vision impairment can have serious consequences for individuals across their life course. Many of these consequences can be mitigated by timely access to quality eye care.

Key conditions include Neovascular (wet) Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), Diabetic Retinopathy (DR), Macular Edema following Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO), and Myopic Choroidal Neovascularization (mCNV).

Ocular Surface Disorders

These disorders affect the cornea, conjunctiva, and tear film which can cause discomfort, inflammation, and visual disturbance. Common conditions include dry eye disease, blepharitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and meibomian gland dysfunction.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of chronic eye diseases characterized by progressive optic nerve damage and visual field loss. It is the leading cause of irreversible blindness. Early detection and sustained treatment are essential to slow disease progression and preserve vision.

Ocular Infections and Inflammation

These diseases affect the eye and surrounding tissues. They may lead to visual impairment. Common conditions include conjunctivitis, keratitis, uveitis, and endophthalmitis, requiring timely diagnosis and appropriate management.
